Is Venice Overhyped?

Absolutely not

I'll be honest, when planning my trip to Venice, I was worried. How could a place be that magical? The canals, the gondolas, the food. So I went into it with a healthy dose of skepticism and the attitude that I was going to enjoy it for whatever it was.

Friend, I was blown away! Yes, the main sites are crowded (especially in the summer), but wandering those stunning streets and just getting lost was something I didn't know I needed in my life. It was extra incredible in the evenings when the day trippers left... it was like having the city almost to myself.

Moral of the story: an open mind and an open heart lead to magical experiences.
